hey mama, in the lead up to mother’s day we wanted to highlight some of our favourite mama’s out there to help us feel a little more connected, supported, heard & seen during this time.

each day we will be sharing with you an interview we did with one of these beautiful women & we can't wait to introduce you to them.

for day two we sat down & spoke with Paris Lucas...

biglittlethings. | So gorgeous Paris, tell us a bit about yourself & who you’re a mama to.

Paris | Thank you so much for thinking of me, So happy to be featured here. I’m from the gold Coast, QLD and have 3 sons Zade 10, Storm 5 & Vada 21 months and due tomorrow with my daughter! Very excited vibes over here for a baby girl to join our tribe.

B | tell us either about your journey to motherhood OR through motherhood currently.

P |  I was 23 when I had my first son so my journey through motherhood was really guided by him and learning how to raise a little human while still growing up myself. He was my greatest gift in life and really paved the way for our future and all we have achieved as a family over the past 10 years.

I found the transition from 1 – 2 kids quite easy, the boys are 4.5 years apart. But going from 2 – 3 really rocked my world for the first year, things are so easy now and what do you know I fell pregnant again so lets see what the world of 4 kids brings haha

B | how are you feeling about it all? How are the boys taking the impending arrival of a baby sister?

P | Feeling really excited for a bit of gender balance in the home. The boys are SO excited for a new baby but having a sister I really think is going to show a new side of their personalities.

B | You have planned a home birth for this little babe - how did you go about planning this? & what are you most excited about it all?

P | When I had Vada almost 2 years ago I just remembered the feeling of inconvenience around being in hospital and having the older kids minded, waiting up in an uncomfortable bed to discharge late at night and just wanting to get home with my new baby.
I’m very fortune to have had 3 completely natural births with no drugs or interventions so I knew a home birth for my last baby would be the perfect ending to my pregnancy journey.

I’m most excited for the small things like my own shower, fresh linen sheets a comfortable big bed full of all my babies and not having to pack a thing or worry about getting anywhere by a certain time.

B | if you could go back in time; what would you say to your pregnant self when you were first pregnant with Zade?

P | Oh gosh, SO much. I’m such a different person now. I would tell myself to educate on all things natural health, food & wellness. My journey down that path didn’t start till Zade was 2 and I have many regrets in that regard.

B | what are some biglittle moments of being a mama?

P | Our weekend walks to the beach, watching the boys and their love for the ocean at all their different stages. Zade out the back surfing. Storm bodyboarding in the shallows and Vada playing on the shore with my husband and I. Friday night family movie night snuggled on the lounge and watching the boys go crazy in trampoline all together. Their belly laughs are the best sound in the world.

B | what/who inspires you as a mama?

P | There are so many inspiring mamas in my local community. I love seeing families on the beach children running free by the ocean and the parents having a morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail on the sand.
I follow some beautiful health & wellness focused mamas on Instagram that inspire me also and my best friends who have all had babies over the last couple years. It’s wonderful to watch them become mothers.

B | lastly, a very important question - what’s your Top 3 favourite products from biglittlethings?

P | Oh gosh SO much. Its really a one stop shop for everything I need/love.

The Levo Charlie Crane Rocker is my absolute fave. My baby girl is going to clock up some serious hours in there.

The Lullaby Club lounge sets are a postpartum dream & I adore all the Susukoshi new-born goodness. They are so soft and beautiful.
